Mating season started réally early here, the weather is all weird, way too hot and way too cold at random times, disturbing seasons, and thus hatching season; low fertile eggs, late, weird. Not many ducklings in this area this year.
Unfortunatelty wild birds have the same problem.

Around one day old last year in the brooder. I'm not an avid picture maker by phone and such. Still not used to it. Trying to get there.

To cute!!! We had an odd season two, we had two ducklings hatch late, our littlest was a week late and may still have more possibly.

I hope you do! They are such a joy!
I find them cuter in that weird pre-puberty fase. With their too big feet and bills and tiny wings heehee! Starting being camera-shy and all awkward :p

They have so many stages that they are cute. Every stage in their life.

I hope you will get more ducks into your family :)

Last year before I did my hatching I read everything I could and watched all the Youtube videos about hatching. Just about all of it said to leave the ducks in the incubator for 24 hours.

I did not do that. It was just so icky in there and so humid that they weren't drying out like I thought they should. I left them maybe an hour or so and then I moved them to the brooder with the heat lamp and they were all fine. Some hatched during the night so they may have been in there longer but most hatched when I was there to watch and move them when I was sure they were good to go.
