:/ okay, i am very worried.
this morning when i walked down to the barn to check on m last hen that has eggs under her. Snd one egg was on the ground. I picked it up it was cracked and ants came running out. I heard nothing from the egg so i held it a few minutes while explaining to my niece what happened. Well,the little one must of felt the heat from my hand and started peeping.. i took him up the the house, helped him out of the egg because i was worried about ants causing infection or something. But, i have him inside. But his vent has like tissue coming out of it. i know it takes 35 days till the eggs are ready to hatch .. this duckling is 4 days earlier.
I do not have an incubator, so i have him in a shoe box with a heating pad and towel.
My question is: when does a duck fully develop?
What is a prolasped vent?
