Duckling not eating?

Vet trips are impossible, as it is I just hope for the best. She only started this way today, she didn't have the yolk sack when she came out, just the umbilical cord still attached to the shell.

picture of her belly button, it's wet because I took a cloth to it so I could get her fluff outta the way. Bad picture yes I know but I can't get a better one, her umbilical cord is that normal scab brown color and it's completely 'scabby' all over. No blood no nothing else leaking out.

When she was at school she was in her box the whole time except when I fed her the chicken grower and water I brought from home (non medicated) As for bedding I use old towels with no loose strings on it.

could have been exposed to germs when it was at school or got food poisoning from eating its own poop? ducks are not as bright as chickens when it comes to eating there own junk

That picture is good - thankyou. I would have expected a scab to have fallen off by 5 days of age but it might take longer I guess...

Feel around the scab - very gently. Does it feel kind of 'mushy' or does it feel firm? is it at all red around the scab, relative to the rest of her skin?

If you can't take her to a vet (I understand - it is not always possible!!) then the best you can do (IMO) is keep her warm and rested and put some bird vitamins in her water if you have them available - something like sav-a-chick or nutri-drench.

If there is a chance that it is an intestinal blockage (e.g. from eating bedding) then I'd also expect to see a messy vent. Giving her a few drops of paraffin every hour can help with an obstruction but I'd say that it is the umblical infection/omphalitis that is the problem here rather than a blockage.

Your duckling looks like she has been growing - so she must have been eating ok. She looks like a fairly normal size and shape for 5 days.

Her bum is not red, kinda backed with white-ish stuff, I think she might be constipated... I've never wanted to get crapped on so badly in my while life

Just read this one. What is it about her that makes you think she is constipated? Do you see poop around her vent? Is it clean or messy?

Any chance of a vent picture?

What makes me think she is is that she had white stuff on her bum, she hasn't pooed all day and her belly is big, she just pooed in my hair but it was all white and mucusey... Could that mean something?

Just wanted to add you can see the blood vessels in her feet quite prominently... I know that's a sine of blood infection but she's had it ever since she's hatched and I've seen some of my other ducklings from the past with that....
