Duckling Problems

I built my ducklings a new pen and now when I come around the pen they hiss at me... Does anyone know why???

Stages, they all go through them, how old are they? If you'll be patient and just spend time being with them not trying to pick them up or hold them against their will they will warm up to you again, but they do go through Oh now she is going to eat me stage. Has to do with them being prey. I'd get some frozen peas and let them thaw then when you go to visit, bring out the peas put some into their water either pool or drinking water and watch them go to town. Most ducks love peas, and dreid mealworms too, treats are a big way to win back your ducks hearts, they may never want you to cuddle them again but they will enjoy your company. I can get mine to come up and take peas out of my hand and meal worms oh my goodness they will climb all over me for them.

I agree with Miss Lydia. My runners at three weeks suddenly were terrified of me. It takes several weeks, but they come back around if you are patient, offer treats, and spend time with them.

Don't expect instant love lol, but peas can do wonders

Yes peas aka duck crack as I call it will make them see you in a different light. Since I've been giving my five peas they always come to the edge of the tub and chirp away at me. I've been trying to sorta train them like dogs when they get picked up they get peas. Therefore being picked up leads to something good. I can't tell if it's working yet it's only been about a week since I started giving them peas.
