Duckling spinning in circles

Oh really? But mother ducks in the wild take their babies swimming in ponds all the time to keep them safe from predators like hawks and cats?Even when they are 2 or 3 days old?? Should I cover my pond when ducklings hatch? My ducks mainly free range, they are just pets not for eggs or anything, so mothers take their babies swimming all the time, the pond is easy to get out of and fairly shallow, never seen any duckling drown in it.

Duckling with their mama do much better with outside temps and cold water than ducklings raised inside in a brooder. mamas oils rub off on her ducklings which make them waterproof where brooder raised have to start out in warm water begin to preen and start the oils onto their feathers that make them water proof. A duckling not water proof will chill and die pretty quick.
