Since Holderread wants checks, this is how I would do it. Have each one write a check for their share made out to Holderread and mail it to you. You make up the order and send all the checks in the same envelope. That way the Holderreads don't have to figure out who has paid and which ducks go with which order.
You don't get stuck with birds you don't want if someone doesn't show up to get their birds. The checks are made out to Holderread, so the other folks know that their money is going to pay for ducks and not to a con artist. (Not accusing you, as you seem very honest)
