Definitely in the country. 5 houses on my street and we live on the side of a mountain. Closest neighbor is a 1/4 mile as the crow files but 3/4 of a mile when driving or walking over there.

Isn’t it awesome? And we live on the side of a mountain too. We have 3 places past us two are vacation cabins one a garage apt with renters. So nice not to have to worry about upsetting any one because of roosters are crowing or geese are honking or ducks are quacking lol.

Our new place is not quite big enough to get geese without worrying about the neighbors. Maybe a separate place way in the back but that is where I want to garden.

Genies before chickens. Might not even have to build shelter for them because of all the trees they can roost in. I cannot spell it right but you know the mean bird I am talking about.

Yes they are a bit loud but pretty self sufficient. Mean to so I think they will help protect the ducks.

after almost three years of trying to get cotton patch I had a shot this year, but couldn't work out feed and $25/egg was just too much. Hopefully, the opportunity presents itself again next year. If I succeed you're gonna have to educate me on them.

The entire west side is along a railroad right of way. Never have neighbors over there or in the back.
