Hi, new to owning ducklings, just over 3 weeks old. I done a lot of research before getting them, chick crumb with brewers yeast on top, peas for treats with grit to help them digest. Recently one of my four have become unsteady, wide stance and sit down a lot. I’ve bought some vitamin b complex to put over treats but unsure if I’m missing anything! Please help 😩

Hello Cathie, and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
My first guess would be a niacin deficiency. Some of our waterfowl folks would have better advice to give than me. @Miss Lydia, @Jenbirdee.
Thanks for the reply, they all seem happy enough, eating and drinking well! They are one of the larger ducklings would that mean they need more niacin?

:welcome Some ducklings just need extra we see it a lot especially Pekin and other large breeds but Pekins mainly they grow so fast. Here is info on Niacin deficiency and it will show you what the dose is for your ducklings.

Please up date once you get him on the correct dose hopefully it will take less than a week to get this taken care of. Another thing is water therapy to help build up leg muscles making sure to give them a safe way in and out of the pool. Once you see the duckling is responding well the liquid B complex keep him on it another week then switch over to Nutritional yeast [I like it much better than brewers yeast] And be sure to check your brewers yeast to make sure it has niaicin in it.
