Hi,
Our first call ducklings are 6 days old and doing pretty well. One of them is a lot smaller than the other and took a little longer to get going, but otherwise is absolutely fine.

It’s eye keeps producing this slightly sticky, gooey substance around it and i’m desperate for some advice on how to cure it. It spends a lot of time scratching it.

Thanks.

Terramycin eye ointment will help also a saline wash till you get the Terramycin. 1/8 teaspoon salt mixed in a cup of warm water rinse the eye out with that then apply the Terramycin. TSC should carry the Terramycin if not Veterycin has one for eyes too. Bless hope the little one recovers quick.

Wow thank you so much for the quick response! We’re used to chickens but ducks are new for us, so we’re desperate to do all we can to help the little ones!

We’ll go and get some eye drops :) do you think it’s anything that will affect it long term? Or just a bit of an infection that we can treat and cure it?

Miss Lydia,

Is this the correct ointment?
