Duckling with spraddle leg - - how long to keep bandaids on?

The little fellow is eating and drinking...and without the bandaids manages to get around. But with the bandaids, it can stand up straight.

I expect the answer is to leave them on until it can walk properly.

But, can anyone tell me about how long that should be?

I splinted my duck's leg with tape and tongue depressor. After 5 days (with dressing changes every other day) I put him in a warm water bath to let him swim and exercise his leg. He was doing OK after 5 days of splinting and continues to improve without the splint.

It took about a week for my chick and a week and a half for my pheasant. Mine learned to get around with the bandaid on in a short while. I would just leave it on and check in a week to see how he is.
