I have a duckling about 48 hours old. She will Bob her head and start moving but then ends up rolling over on her back. Her eyes are usually shut. The yolk sac wasn't completely absorbed however is now and she does have a small piece of umbilical cord left. It's dried and looks good. She hasn't eaten and I keep trying to give her drops of water but doesn't seem interested. Help please

Sorry to hear about your duckling.

I always have a hard time keeping early hatchers alive. The most you can do is keep her in a warm, quiet, stressful free area, and ensure other ducklings aren't bullying her. Don't force any fluids on her if she isn't willing to take some, ducklings aspirate very easily. If she were mine, I might try to give her a drop of a poultry vitamin tomorrow morning or so. Gatorade or Pedialyte will also work, but the container should be disposed of 24 hours after opening since the sugar substances are bacteria magnets. You can also try offering her mashed scrambled eggs, but it sounds like she won't be eating for a while.
