duckling

I had a friend give me a duckling that she got from someone. They didn't know what kind it is. I'm hoping someone can tell me what it is. Its a chocolate brown solid with a yellow ring 3/4 of the way around its neck. I'm not even sure if it is a duckling or gosling. Any ideas?

Without seeing a pic.....I have a khaki campbell female that was brown with a ring around her neck.
