Hello! I have a 2 year old female Peking who has suddenly decided to become broody. She has been sitting them for about a week and a few days now. My question is the place she chose to brood is behind the chicken coop on the side the male rooster sleeps at night and I dont know if hes noticed yet (Or cares) but when and if her babies hatch will he try to kill them? Id really like to give them a chance but I dont have an incubator, nor the money for one. I know he is protective of her as if she is one of his hens but Im sure he will know those babies arent his but the Khaki Cambell drake I have. Im not sure he would like that either. Hes a might possessive bantam (enough said Im sure). Any advice would be most appreciated!!
Thank you
