Ducklings are hatching!

Ahhh I'm freaking out, they are so cute! 7 eggs have hatched!

8 ducklings, 6 black and 2 yellow, and 3 eggs that arnt pipped, I'm gonna candle them tonight and see if theres any movement in them

I know I'm freaking out, they are so much cuter with there momma, then when you brood them yourself!

Great news maybe there was movement in all 3 eggs left. Looks like they could pip any time now. The air sack was big and I saw little bills moving around in there! Pray she doesn't abandon them and that the other ducklings will wait for them to hatch as well! The last 3 are all Welsh harlequin eggs so that would even out my colors a little

2 pipped this morning, not seeing any movement in the 3rd, but left it in. Hopefully I'm wrong about that, its daylight out so it was hard to see.

Well she got up off the nest and is chasing her ducklings around the run. She was off the nest an hour so I went out and got the 3 eggs and put them in my thrown together incubator. Saw movement in the non pipped one so i poked a safty hole in the top. The incubator is still warming up. Will I be able to give her the ducklings when they hatch.

I have seen that folks have waiting till mom is out foraging with her ducklings and you just place the new ones in with the rest and she has no idea. Maybe give them a day to get their legs under them first.

I saw that with my mamas actually when they would all be out in the first week the ducklings would leave their mama and start following the other mama and her ducklings And mama duck was very accepting after end of second week she knew hers from the others. Boy was that a mess trying to keep mamas with their own ducklings lol Thankfully they were all the same color so it wasn't that hard to do except for the 4 yellow ones that mama eventually wouldn't accept any other color.
