Ducklings are pipping!! - would love some distractions!

He is absorbed and ready to come out
Just zip the rest of the way for him
May need to take a little shell off above his head as his foot needs room to move so he can get his head out
Pull the zipped cap back and baby should push out
He won’t need back in his egg
Set him back in the bator to warm up

I wanted to share a tip that I’ve found very helpful, especially when opening the incubator while the others are still trying to hatch. I move my incubator to our bathroom at lockdown. Then if I need to intervene and open the incubator, I first run a hot shower for a couple of minutes and raise the humidity of the room. This way I know when I open the incubator, the other eggs won’t get stuck from too much of a drop in humidity and the membranes drying out.

If the others haven’t hatched and aren’t pecking at it, then just letting it rest and absorb in the incubator is best. If there are others in there you may need to protect it.
