Ducklings Died?

It shouldnt have been the car ride since I had to drive an hour to bring them home with me the day I got them, but that was through the country not the city so maybe it was all the gas in the city? I don't know. The food is very fine grained and I made sure they had water to help them swallow. We also have two baby chicks that lived with them and they are perfectly fine. It's a giant mystery to me. I won't be getting ducklings again for a little while though I do want them again in the future they had the greatest little personalities and were so much fun!

Where are you keeping them (their brooder)?
I only ask because I was thinking if it's in a basement or such it might be a gas? Like carbon monoxide from a gas water heater, or radon?
Just a thought...

Did the chicks also go on the journey with you to the vets? How were they housed for transportation?

I think, to try and find an answer you are comfortable with, you need to do it by process of elimation

Rather than focus on the "sameness" between chicks and ducklings, look at what was different.

I'm so sorry.

Because they both died within such a short time, I would be suspicious of the new food. You're right - there shouldn't be anything wrong with feeding it, but it could be a bad batch or old and moldy. I would call the manufacturer and give them the lot number, etc and also the feed store where you got it to let them know. Is there a date on the bag?

and no the chicks didnt go to the vet with me, only the ducklings did
