Ducklings drinking too much?

Well perhaps i have missed something in my duck raising journey but NEVER encountered that .... and i have raised many a duckling(and yes ones with no mama), the only reason i would think they would gorge themselves on water would be if they were lacking in it. Ducks MUST have water when they have food, no if's on that.. is it possible this is what happened?

The most common cause of such a situation would be water deprivation followed by over drinking when water was provided.

They eat Purina whatever it is supposed to be for ducklings. They take very good care of their chicks/ducklings/turkeys/geese etc. Maybe they had just gotten them in from the hatchery...I didn't ask when he got them.

Might want to double check the feed, though. Mistakes happen. Call the hatchery, too.

Not my ducks and he told me it has happened a couple of times before.

PS...the ducklings in every other bin were eating the same thing and they were being given small amts of water at a time, not freely. This bin was the only one that a customer had put water in.
