Ducklings found help identifying

Mergansers are fish ducks- But, when they are babies I imagine you can feed them a duck starter. If you are planning on keeping them as pets I would reconsider it. Mergansers are like the rat of the duck world but very beautiful. They eat fish after fish after fish. But they seem like they could be pets. keep us posted

Look on eggbid.com, there is a someone selling merganser pairs. http://www.eggbid.com/listings/details/index.cfm?itemnum=1212353305 If you contact the seller send the pics they may be able to positively ID them and give advice on raising them if that is what they are.

They will even eat some shellfish like zebra muscles which is a good thing. If I were you I would release them when they grow up.

If you can put some other baby (any kind of bird that isn't to big to hurt them) in with them to make them feel safer and to teach them how to eat and live. Get some mealworms and put them in the food dish, they should be attracted to the wiggles and start to eat + it will provide extra protein for them.
