I guess I'm officially in the poultry club ;)

My two pekin ducklings from McMurray arrived this morning. The post office called me at 6:40 AM saying that the ducks had just come in, and we were there by 7:15, barely able to contain ourselves as we heard the ducks squeaking away inside their box.

I opened the lid in the car and one of them decided to jump straight out! Meet Abigail, the little spunk.

Amelia was a bit quieter until we got her home. She immediately wanted a drink, a LOT of food, and a nap. 48 hours in a box wore her out.

These duckies have now been across more US states than I have, so I'm very reluctantly letting them get some shuteye for now. More pictures to come when I can't take it anymore ;)

Also, a question: they seem to only sleep for very short periods of time, seconds even, before perking up and running around a bit. Then they repeat. Is this normal?

That's very normal. We received our first ducks (5 Ancona's) back in April and we just got more babies today as well. This time we got 2 black Indian Runners and 2 Sweet Emily's. Congratulations on your babies!

So sweet! There aren't many things sweeter than a bitty duckling. I wish I could have babies all the time.

Ah how lovely. We just got pekins but they're a few months old so we missed all the duckling stage! Looking forward to having some of our own some day...

Enjoy your girls!
