You may want to place a large stone in the pond that they can use to get out, too. Just in case. I speak from experience and you don't want to have to go through that.

Not sure a stone will work as most of its quite deep, but I'll make some sort of ramp that reaches deep into the water so they can get out even if the level gets low.
