Ducklings on the move!

I would not let them go along with the adults unless they are 4 weeks old. So you need to find another way in between. I now have 11 one week old ones and I know how you feel about them getting crowded. I'm now waiting until the temps are back in the mid 70s so I can have them outdoors in the daytime. The would be the aviary, without the older ducks. That way they are protected from hawks etc. Then they will be back inside at night until they are old enough to move into the duck house.

I say 6 weeks. Minimum. I have a 4 1/2 week old that was getting picked on by the adults so I sectioned off a part of my run for him.

You are right they have to get used to each other slowly. My adult ducks can walk along the aviary and will see them. After that it will be supervised play time, until I know they all are doing fine.

They are being looked after by the mother, and when the adult ducks were out of the run they were going around the broody coop, sticking there beaks in the food and water. It was very cute.
