I just am getting confused with information. So, I have gotten some more ducks. I live in Northern Texas, so our winters aren't as terrible as some places. I am just concerned about when they can start moving outside at night with my older ducks. Right now they hang out with them during the day as it gets up to mid to high 60s. I just am curious when I could let them stay out over night with the older ducks. The lows at night are around 38°F on a cold day. Now tonight the the low is around 60°F. I have 4 and they will be 7 weeks on Tuesday. They love going outside. I have a nice cover and it is set up where my adult ducks can see them but can't touch them. I am also wondering when I can start introducing them to the older ducks. There is 1 drake in the current flock. I have been doing that for about a week. The older female sits right next to them. The male doesn't really care for them unless they get super close then he acts like he wants to get through the fence which concerns me. Any advise on either the temps and the integrating would be appreciated.

Ours were joined to the main flock with a drake at three months old. Prior to that the Drake spent the summer days running along the separating fence trying to get to the young ones :) but once joined things went peacefully, there was no huge orgy lol. This was in early fall, I guess in spring it could go differently.

I know ducklings are not very quick to feather, but they are able to handle cooler temps just fine. I would leave them out night and day
My ducklings are raised with the flock. My drakes ignore ducklings. I have heard that is not always the case. I personally would put them together and see how it goes.

they can handle the temps but need to be locked up securely overnight and use a fence to separate any female youngsters from any older drakes. until the females are egg laying age.
