Ducklings,

We went to Tractor Supply for some chicks and got the chicks as well as the 3 cutest ducklings. I think we have 2 pekin and 1 Rouen. Can you tell me if you think they are male or female?

I fell into the trap too! I went in for heat lamps and walked out with no heat lamps and 4 ducklings!

That's quite the size difference!

Unless the pekins are older, I think you have a Mallard, not a Rouen.

I don't know of a way to tell gender until their voices change around week five.

Guess that won’t be too long. I guess I really don’t care what breed they are as long as they are female. I don’t want male ducks causing issues with my hens.

There are two ways to sex ducklings, vent sexing and voice sexing. Vent sexing can be tricky, voice sexing can't happen until they get their adult duck voices instead of baby peeping, so 5-7 weeks of age. Here is some info and discussion on both methods.
