I think you are better with the duck pellets if they are eating that. I give mine an occasional nutritional yeast, but with duck pellets you should be fine unless you have Pekins. Pekins are a problem all their own.

Set their food an water up on something so it’s not right in the shavings that will keep the savings drier to.

Under the water dishes, there is a rectangular box that has hardware cloth over it and that shelf liner from the Dollar Tree on top. That will help a lot with the water mess. The water spills into the box and doesn't get on the shavings

Do your ducks do well on the flock raiser? Do you have to add niacin?

My whole flock free ranges and has the Nutrena All Flock feed. I've never had any deficiencies that led me to add yeast to their feed!

My ducklings also went through the wood chip eating phase. But at some point they got tired of them. They are exceptionally curious, which is part of why they are so interesting.

I wonder if you'll be OK with only 2 ducklings? What if something happens to one? Or what if you get 2 of the same gender? You could probably increase it by +1 or +2 to account for unforeseeable circumstances later?
