Good morning,I am wondering whether Olivia is getting a bit thin,it looks there is a change in her diet,I added rice because I thought it was a good carbohydrate for them.here’s what they eat.
Tons of chopped veggies.
Occasional fruits and sometimes eggs.
I mix their feed with oatsand sunflower seeds with sprayed grit on the top.(They like it rather not touched and it’s wasted most of the days)
Watery rice and sometimes barley.
A small amount of duckweed.(not always)
Am I missing anything?I added a multivitamin with their water but they hate it and would prefer not to touch it,EVER.
I’m thinking of giving them a natural diet and mine seems sort of ok,still it dosent explain why Olivia’s getting a bit thin.
P.s.
The price of the multivitamin is dangerous, they’ll likely steal the money and I don’t think I need to buy it either because they never drink it.

Can you buy just plain ole poultry feed? that will have all the vitamins and nutrients they need daily. We cannot make a feed on our own that is equivalent to it. Look up what you need to make poultry feed. I know people in other countries feed rice but like you said its a starch and they need protein also. plus all the other vitamins for a good wholesome diet. There are sunflower seeds in my flocks scratch which gives some protein but then again if they aren't eating it?

I looked for the poultry feed but all the stores have layer pellets,so that’s clearly what I’m feeding them now with sunflower seeds and grit and oats. But they don’t like it much, they’d rather gobble down the rice and veggies and duckweed.I’ll also buy feeder fish for them today and give them a small amount each day.I don’t know what else to feed them because the mealworms are not available online anymore and I have to go on natural treats.

And also this is what their multivitamin,I’m willing to buy it as long as they drink it with their waterer but they never do and won’t even if I add with the watery rice. Those picky eaters!

If they won't drink their water if you put the vitamins in it then I guess it's best not to use them, they need to drink to eat. How old are your duckling now? Maybe if you asked a store would order you grower? might not hurt to ask. Really layer shouldn't start until they are close to laying age which is usually anywhere from 4.5 months on De pending on breed.

They are nearly 3 months old and our stores don’t have the grower pellets, only layer, though they have bad quality broiler grower feed, the price was super low so I wouldn’t dare feed them to my ducks.

Ok,so today I was trying to hug Olivia when the nastiest smell came from her body,so..
Can I bathe her with dish soap?
I’d just leave her. Animals just smell weird, and dish soap removes any protective oil coatings on their feathers. I don’t have ducks, but I’ve had to bathe my chickens before with dish soap and it messes up their feathers for a while.
