you could BUT, ducklings are very messy (poo wise) and wet, they love to splash water everywhere.

It would be hard to keep the chicks dry around them. They also eat different types of feed . They probably would get along well if you free range but, they should have separate coops.

If you go to "Other Backyard Poultry," forum you can find duck threads and ask people with ducks for their input.

I am not sure about this. I think ducklings need a lot of water to keep their nostrils clean and it will make too much mess for the chicken chicks. But I am not 100% sure about this!

Hi there,
I actually recently purchased 6 bantam chicks and two ducks. I hoped to house them together and it worked out the first couple days but today I made the decision to separate them, (at least until everyone gets a little bigger) due to the fact of how incredibly messy those little guys are (with the never ending water play and seemingly endless supply of poop) They constantly played in the water which of course went everywhere, not only was I having to keep a constant eye on it and refill it multiple times a day, but the bedding was getting so wet that I had to change that constantly as well as my little bantams feet were getting wet and I did not want them freezing. With that being said my little ducks now live in my jacuzzi tub where they have a lot more room to play and slosh their little beaks in their water dish with out making my bantams uncomfortable. Once they no longer require a heat lamp and all babies have their feathers I plan to house them all together again. Hope this helped! It is no joke when people say ducks are messy! Incredibly adorable and fun to watch but oh so messy.
