Ducks and Grit

This is something that I have never thought about till now. All my Ducks are free range and have been for 2 years. When I pen them up this spring for breeding do I need to give them grit?

If you pen them in all wire pens then yes, give them grit(free choice). If they are still penned in pens with dirt or grass they will usually be ok without it.

I thought so but wanted to make sure. It's funny the things you don't think about.

i see my duck and geese eat dirt, willingly, every day. if they will be penned up for a good while, probably good to have something available.
