Ducks and hurricanes

Thanks everyone. Yes, there is more damage than predicted. None of the weather people could predict anything. Isaac had a mind of his own. We couldn't decide if we needed to leave or stay

We, like lots of others, end up staying because it SEEMED it wouldn't be to bad, but it ended up worse than anyone thought it would be

I see it has been a long time since you posted this comment, but someone came with a tranquilizer gun and shot all the Muscovy ducks in my development. The neighbors are upset...they kept us mosquito free and our 10 canals flowing and free of algae. My male flew off, trying his wings out and I don't think he intended to leave my female alone...every time we've seen him he was so happy to see us, but afraid. The last time we saw him was Christmas Day, of this year. Yesterday, 1/18/2013 was our last day of searching for him. My female is so depressed, not eating. Do you know anyone in Tampa, that would have Muscovy ducks that I could get her a mate. Not to breed, but just to be her companion? The legislature here has made it open season on Muscovy (so stupid, since they eat mosquitoes, algae, and keep canals and ponds free of roots that would hinder the flow of water). Now someone has suggested that big monied farmers have pushed this legislation to protect their own interests, hurting private owners and small farms. If you know anyone in this area, please email me at: [email protected]. Thanks!
