Ducks beside subject line

This may seem like a dumb question but, what do the little ducks beside the subject lines mean?

Goof! It may just be a new post period, not necessarily since you last signed in. I'll need clarification on that from someone, but yep, new post, not necessarily duck-related, LOL.

The little yellow ones (I'll let you pick if it is a duck or a chick) are part of the relatively new "Mark As Read " functionality.

Wow, how easy it is to have a misunderstanding! I was getting jealous because everytime I posted, no duckie/chick...I always wanted a duckie/chick like everyone else! Glad I know now, boy do I feel rather like a noodle
