What does it mean when a male call duck bites the tail of a female mallard?

They are new to each other. We just got the call duck(10 weekold) 3 days ago and have had our female mallard(7 week old) since she hatched. Is this going to be a constant behavior? We got the second duck to be friends with our lonely single duck.

If he is wanting to breed with her, it probably won’t get a whole lot better until she’s old enough to want to mate with him. Which she is almost there.
