ducks, drakes, and GEESE???

also, what age can you sex a khaki by the coloring on top of their tail? i used that with my two girls, but forgot what age???

I beg to differ. I have calls, geese, goslings, and standard ducks all together. They sleep in the same coop, and free range all day. My gander has never done anything other than hiss at my calls, and even then only the drakes. They don't mind the hens at all. If anything, it's the call drakes that harass the big ducks. My standard drake has never tried to mate with my call hens.

My geese are American buffs. They are a very mellow breed, and are by far my gentlest birds.
did you raise them together? i’m trying to decide if i should get one or two females???

I didn't. I started with standard ducks, then added calls. Last year, I added geese. This year, my geese, mainly the gander, are raising a couple goslings.
i have just standard ducks at the moment too. then next year i think i will add in the geese and some extra female standard ducks in early march. then i’ll get calls whenever i have a chance (i have to find some locally, 6 is the shipping minimum and they don’t come sexed

I have a pair of adult geese, and the 2 goslings. Not sure what sex the goslings are yet. It'll be a while before I can tell. I have 19 standard ducks, mainly Welshies, including the drake, and a small troup of calls. 3 adult hens, and one drake, currently. I really haven't had any aggressive behavior displayed from my geese at all other than the time my gander became upset witnessing the rooster mate a chicken... he picked the rooster up by the tail, and flung him. Honestly, it was hilarious.

I'm sure there are cases where you can house Calls and Ganders, with me, I can't, they do fine free-ranging during the day, but if you were to put them in the same coop it'd be a disaster. Your setup and each bird's personality is going to play a major role whether they will fight or not, but IMO I think it would be a shame if you got yourself a few Calls and Geese and had to rehome them because of fighting. All I'm saying is there is a lot of risks involved housing those two different species, and it should be carefully considered first before you buy yourself some .

Another thing to consider is that calls are just bitty little things. Before I moved mine in with the main group, they stayed nights in a dog house that I built a door for. If you needed to, something simple like that is always an option.
