So I decided to free range my ducks as soon as I had them, they do have a safe pen that they can come in if they decide.

Two weeks ago they pulled a disapearing act and have been pretty wild since. I have 3 mallards, Webby and Mercy (stil a bit lame) and Charlie.

Last week they decided they were too good for me and ran off to puddles in the woods about a 1/2 acre from the house. I got nearby the woods to feed them, and they ate and ran. No sign of them tuesday or Wednesday.

Thursday they saw me and were happy and came out of their puddle to feed. No sign of them Friday.

Saturday was another story. They were talking up a STORM and letting me know that they were hungry and ment business. They woke me up about 5am with their furious honking.

I ignored them until about 7 when I had to get up anyway. They were a bit skittish, but were happy to be fed. They hung around the house and car hoping for more while I got ready for the day. I came out, fed them more and proceeded down the drive. Realizing I forgot something I left the car door open and ran back to the house. By the time I was back they were nearly in my car.

Sunday they almost flew into me comming off the river when they realized I had mealworms.

Today they were asserting their dominance in their coop, yelling at me to feed them. I come out of my door and they come bolting out of their coop at full tilt nearly into me and my dog.

Oi.

They backed off when I walked towards them and eagerly ate. They've disappeared again back into the muddy river.

I'm yet to be convinced they aren't going to try to take over my house.
