Bitter. Cold. Uncomfortable! Over the summer, I bought 12 pekin ducks (as ducklings) hoping to sell the males and have at least half of them gals, but 3 girls out of 12! we sold the 3 girls, and many of the boys, but now we are left with 5 males. Over the summer, since it was warm, I kept them outside in the peen in their comfy straw, but since it colder, I am keeping them in the coop. I understand that most "duck coops" are on the ground......Ground level. I am in the process of asking my dad for more little buildings. either building or buying. Anyway.........................Are ducks okay in the chicken coop with the others? I have ben doing it for about a week, now idk if it is right?

As long as no fighting is going on.......If you meant they are with Chickens? It could cause an issue as Drakes will breed Chicken hens and can kill them.....An extra large Dog house also works great for Ducks.....

Cheers!

I've got 12 chickens and 6 ducks all happily sharing the same coop. I've only got one drake though and he's never attempted to breed the chickens. I think as long as your chickens can get up on a roost to get away from the drakes if they had to, they'll be fine. I like keeping all my birds together because I figure all the body heat in one coop will help keep it warmer.
