Ducks in the Coop

I've got 12 chickens and 6 ducks all happily sharing the same coop. I've only got one drake though and he's never attempted to breed the chickens. I think as long as your chickens can get up on a roost to get away from the drakes if they had to, they'll be fine. I like keeping all my birds together because I figure all the body heat in one coop will help keep it warmer.
How old is your Drake.....?..Young I assume.......He will become hormones in the spring. Just really watch he does not kill your Chicken hens....Drakes have a Penis..Chickens are not made that way..........

Sorry for the confusion on my part......lol.........

He's two years old and a total wimp. He scrambles to get out of the way of the chickens and barely even breeds the female ducks. They usually chase him off if he tries. Poor dude doesn't get to act like a drake but he seems quite happy to let the girls take charge!

Ducks are truly a weird sort are they not? They [the ducks] are about 7 months old. We are trying to find a home for them though. Not too many uses for drakes when you wanted all girls!

That is awesome. Yeah, I mean, I was probably too busy with other things to spend the needed time with them

I love ducks to, with a purpose....And the right homing. I bought mine for a buck, but I was totally unprepared. I bought them because I was taken by how adorable they were [and still are!]

Oh, That is too cute! At least you feel loved and needed with every little thing coming from your little "feathered puppies"! My ducklings were like puppies before they decided they wanted to pass through the teenage stage.....
