Ducks in the Mojave desert...

I didn't really expect to have to keep him when I found him in the duck luck run off water grasses growing, but then I checked and yeah I guess I'm supposed to collect him and apply for a "tortoise adoption"... He's cute, & I'm not a big reptile person, but this guy's cute so he/she can stay and be fed well and have water around all the time, and get real big over the years, outlive me by 30 years easy & has sweet duckies to live with, so hey, what else could a tortoise want?

Well.... All that is over now: Coyotes dug under the fence last night, killed 3 of my ducks and only the little full blood Mallard was able to fly to get away.... So sad, to see the others, all ripped up like that

I am going to miss them so very much
