I have nesting boxes about 3 feet from the floor for my hens. I was starting to find an occasional duck egg in the boxes and I tought it was my oldest son find the eggs on the ground and putting them in there. But he said it wasnt him and now it's almost an everyday thing. Does anyone else have ducks that do this?
Oh and another quick question. I have green and white(opal) duck eggs. And have a runner and a mallard which belongs to which???

I have a plastic dogloo in my duck pen, and even though there's no nesting material in there my duck alternates between laying her eggs on the ground or in there....I guess it's just whatever they prefer!

Yep...my call ducks lay their eggs in the nesting boxes...and they're between 3-4 feet off the ground! If you leave it in there, she'll lay till she lays a clutch and then sit on them...that's if you want little duckies...
