Ducks killed robins?

We just found two dead robins in our fenced in duck area. We have had a family of robins in our yard that have coexisted with the ducks for months now—but today we found these two dead near one of the pools we have for the ducks, and I’m making the assumption that they did it, the robins have been absolutely mauled.

is this normal behavior? I was so confused because I figured the robins would have just flown away. The ducks aren’t particularly agile. It is pretty upsetting to us.

My ducks chase out and attack everything that enters their pen as best they can. But ive never ever seen them actually catch a small bird, but I guess its possible

Ide say its more likily a raven or a cat killed them, and ducks will maul over anything that falls into their run

ive seen ravens hold small birds down and kill them, then just leave them their without actualy eating them

Well if it was a cat we would also have some dead ducks on our hands, I think. Our domesticated cats are indoor cats, and I haven’t seen any others around (also think they’d have a hard time getting into the fenced in area without me noticing. Perhaps a raven, but I’ve never seen one of those in or near the duck area but doesn’t mean it’s not a possibility.

I do know that the ducks will attack birds that enter their space—but just didn’t think they’d be able to catch a small bird that could easily fly away (let alone 2).

cats wont touch ducks or chickens so I doubt you would have dead ducks on your hands unless you have little babies

I guess I was speaking primarily based on my cat—who would certainly kill a duck for sport. I still don’t think it was a cat, however.

I have two cats—both quite large. But I’ve seen average size cats with the ability. Along with other small predatory animals.

I found a Cardinal in my ducks fenced are pretty sure the ducks did it.
