so i have been reading on here that ducks start to lay eggs around 6 months....well mine r 17 weeks old and she has been laying for about 1 week now....is that early??? im gonna go buy some layer feed after work....and im gonna chop up oyster shells....they free range all day...so do i still need to give them all of this when they start laying...i dont want to over do it....

If you are giving her a layer ration you may not need the extra oyster shell because it has extra calcium in it - typically. You could feed her a 16% feed and then give her oyster shell free choice. 16 weeks is earlier than most.....she is a keeper!
