Hello we have two Female mallards about 1 1/2 years old who have been great layers. We recently were given two baby mallards. We introduced them to the big girls about 2 weeks ago (the babies are 2-3 months old we guess) and they seem to get along just fine but our big girls have not layed an egg since they have joined them. Is this common? Will they go back to laying? I miss my yummy duck eggs. Thanks

Mallards are seasonal layers like Muscovy's but probably bringing in the new ducks has thrown them off, but hey for them to have accepted them with out any problems is worth the wait for egg laying to resume. I congratulate you on having it go so smoothly.
