Ducks vs. hail storm

This afternoon we had a very severe line of thunderstorms pass through the area. According to reports, a few miles to our south folks were hit with inch and a half hailstones along with a possible tornado. It was not that bad at our place. (When all said and done, we had windrows of hail about the size of a pea or perhaps a little larger covering the lawn. ) At the height of the storm however, when I looked out back, rather than take cover, our not so bright ducks were huddled up against their plastic wading pool with their heads and necks stretched up looking at the sky. Even peas size hail stings and those ducks had to unnecessarily have taken a pretty good beating.

Is this type of behavior typical of all ducks or did we just come up with a pair of genuine retards? *

* Chickens are not noted for mental acuity, but at least ours had enough sense to go in their coop.

Duckie did this recently, she's 11 months old. And it was nickel size hail, and she was standing in the open 3feet from her coop door...

My duck did this in a storm, I walked out to try to bring him inside and he just stood there looking at the sky while I was being drenched, sometimes I spray him with the hose and he just stands there. Ducks just don't care! <3

My ducks seemed utterly shocked. They're almost a year old(I think we got them in June? Or maybe it was May...) and this was their first hailstorm. We had pea-sized to dime-sized little pieces, and it lasted about three minutes.

My ducks have always stood out in the middle of a storm though. Including a month or so ago, when we had tornado warnings and watches.

Ducks really just don't care, haha.
