Ducks + water

We are moving right along and getting the ducks situated for their permanent home outside. We have a large coop for our chickens, could we just add our ducks in with them?

If so, can we lock them in at night without water? I don't want water in the coop with the chickens as we all know the ducks will make a MESS!

Will they calm down? We didn't handle them a lot when they were younger because we have twin toddlers -- and, well, that's two more hands than I have. We didn't want one of the little duckies to get hurt. So we have been spending time bribing them with dried meal worms but they're still easily scared just by walking within 10 feet of them... did I already screw this up?

i have my ducks in with my chickens, but i only have 4 calls and 9 chickens in a giant coop, my ducks have a covered area to get away from the chickens pooping on them

and if you take away water at night make sure to remove food or they will choke and die

Well I wasn't going to leave food without water  But I wondered if it was ok to remove water.

For example, if we lock them in a coop/house at night -- I wanted to make sure they'd be ok without water.

Also. If I build them an "area" do I need to have it covered or will they be safe just locked in their duck house!?

As far as their sleeping quarters, do they need a certain amount of space to sleep? Their area will be plenty big, but we are currently planning on putting them in a dog house for their coop. Will they always cuddle up together like they do now or will they outgrow that?

some ducks can fly, so they may be able to get out, and also remember if you have aerial predators in your area they can get in even if your birds cant get out

We have a lot of trees in our yard, I think we're fairly safe from aerial predators. We've never lost a chicken and they free range all day long.

But today's MAJOR VICTORY:: the ducks put themselves to bed after me chasing them and putting them to bed for only 2 nights!!! It's the mini victories, right?!

Here is a photo of the current duck house::
