Ducks with leg problems!

Pics
This is awesome news!! Sounds very hopeful! Do you have any pictures or videos of what she was doing before? Would also love to see some pictures of the splint to run by my vet!! I’ve thought about something like that but my vet didn’t seem to think it was necessary to X-ray. I know he would do it if I asked. They are such wonderful people!!
As far as my boys go, sometimes I feel like I see improvements & sometimes I don’t. Every now & then I think one is a little worse. But then it looks a little better. It’s so hard to know what to do. I think I watch them Too much & now it’s hard to tell the differences, ya know?
Sure I can upload some pictures. She is so cute in her bright pink cast. XD yeah, it can be hard to tell what's going on sometimes.

I Love it!! When I had a brace made for my dog’s knee, I chose hot pink also!
I’m very excited (& interested) to see before & after photos.
Miss Lydia, I am still giving niacin and/or nutri-drench regularly. Not daily anymore bc even though they are on the waterfowl food mixed with the flock raiser, they eat Around the flock raiser & pick out the waterfowl food. Silly cute duckie boys!

I will post pictures soon! She looks so cute! Aww! Cute puppy. Minnie Pearl is also on niacin,

I feel bad that he has trouble with simple things like stretching & scratching his face, at least on that side. He seems to over groom his chest, my assumption is because he has a hard time balancing enough to reach other places. But he seems to be figuring out how to do it in other ways. I wish they would trust me already so I could get hands on him without stressing him out! They watch me & they follow me, but they don’t want me to touch them. I’m sure where they came from, they got grabbed up to move from dirty pens to clean pens. So I’m just going to be patient with the trust. If I have to grab someone I will, but I don’t want to mess up any trust I’m building unless it’s necessary. So they don’t swim often bc they just don’t quite know about that pool yet. ☺️

Believe me I know all about trying to get an animal to trust you. There is a random stray cat that basically moved in underneath one of our sheds. I could tell she wanted to be with us, but she was just shy. I finally built up enough trust to pet her. Then some dogs came by and those dogs had a reputation for killing cats, and she was walking right towards the dog! So I tried to slowly pick her up, but she got scared and now I have several scratches....not pretty. Thankfully she trusts me again, thanks to all the food and attention she gets, lol. Anyway, my point is, keep trying, don't give up. You will eventually gain their trust!

Aww! They are so beautiful! Do you know their breed? Poor little guy. Do you have all drakes, or are they ducks? I hope he will get better. Minnie Pearl is sleeping in a dog crate outside so she can still hear and see and talk to the other ducks, that way they won't forget her and pick on her.

They are adorable @GumBranchChick Now being Rouens
they are going to be heavy ducks so it's real important they don't get over weight. I'd keep up with the niacin even if eating the water fowl feed for a while just for that extra support. But maybe you should talk to your vet about them. As for them letting you touch them they may never want you to, My ducks, I have had some for over 8-10 years and they still don't like to be touched or held. If I have to I walk them into their house so I can pick them up with out them freaking out too badly. The only one of my birds who doesn't mind me picking him up and snuggling is my Muscovy drake and he was raised inside by myself and my dh.

They may never been normal in their legs since this was an issue for a while before you got them But they sure look very healthy and happy and that goes to your care and love for them. ♥

He called them drakes. And he Thought he picked out the males. They all seem to be getting blue/green on their wings, & tinges of green on their head, so I’m assuming he was right. And nobody is trying to jump anybody.
So is Rouen their breed? He had no idea! All he knew was a letter & a number that made no sense, & when I searched it brought up nothing. I’ve wondered about the weight management issue also. The waterfowl feeding guidelines say feed ad libidum. Was hoping for more specific instructions. :) What weight should i shoot for if I ever can get a weight on them?
Thanks for the encouragement! I love these little guys. So badly want them to be in water so he doesn’t have to be as uncomfortable.
