Ducks

I have to ducks purchased at the same time. One is a Peking and the other is a mallard, both females. The Peking is 2 1/2 times the size of the mallard. The Peking (Lilly) has been laying for over a week. The Malard (Blossom) does not look big enough to lay. They are the same age. Is there a difference in when the different breeds produce eggs?

I think they may just be having difficulties adapting.

Mallards are smaller then pekins.

Mallards are seasonal layers. It's likely she won't lay til spring and she will lay fewer eggs overall.
