Ducks

I would say that it depends on your how many ducks you want, what breed of duck you want, and where you live. If you don't care about the breed and just want a straight run (a random mix) than I think almost all Hatcheries provide that. The closer the Hatchery is to you the better because it means the ducklings will get to you faster and not be cold, hungry, or possibly miss handled, for as long. It also highers the survival rate.
I have a few that I have looked at but have only had personal experience with Privett Hatchery. So I do know Privett hatchery does large orders and has a good survival rate as far as I have seen. If you are interested in smaller orders I would say look into any local hatcheries first and if you can't find locals, there is Meyer Hatchery, which I hear is pretty good. I will attach a few others just so you can look if you want to do your own research.

I would also add "What do you want them for?", if for meat or egg production, I can personally vouch for Meyer, McMurray, and Metzer. If it's to start a particular line of ducks for good quality breeding or show stock, then go to a specialist (like Holderread, etc.).

Sourcing them locally is sometimes better, but the hatcheries keep the hens laying almost all year-round so you may have better luck when it comes time to order.

And of course there is always CraigsList (which is the only place I sell).

If your looking for good quality birds at a relatively cheep price, I'd order from Meyer Hatchery. If your looking for breeder/show quality birds, I'd order from Holderread Waterfowl.
