If i so much as say the word mealworms my ducks go crazy. they love them soo much they will tear up the bag to get the them. i think its one of the only ways i can get them to swim and let me tell you my ducks HATE swimming in water 

My ducks LOVE water and would chew through ME for some meal worms lol

Where do you guys find mealworms?

i buy them from the local pet shop or supermarket. another way is to buy live ones from a pet shop for lizards and breed them. but dried is always better. live makes their breath smell XD

Just wanted you to know that my ducklings are just loving the peas as a treat! I shake them in this little red bowl, they see and hear that and get all excited! I sit in their kennel and hold the peas on my lap and feed them and they are even letting me pet them very lightly! We are now in the process of building an area outside of their kennel so they can graze, I'm so excited! I've hung some fly strips in thier kennel for the flies. Here in Colorado our weather has been so hot so they flies are getting close to anything damp or stinky...lol

Excellent that you are actually petting them! Mine will eat from my hand, but they say 'no touchy'. The good news is - ducks are creatures of habits, so if you can pet them now, likely, they will let you continue forever.

My ducks think the water lillies are their personal pond dipping "treat"; however they leave the water irises alone (except to nuzzle between the leaves). I also have an ornamental grass in the marginals and they leave that alone too.

From my experience, I would say there are some plants which they will decimate and others they are happy to nuzzle in but do not destroy.

What are these "nuzzling plants." I will be adding a pond to my garden for next year. We have 3 runners and are looking to add 2 Sebbie geese. I am really looking for things that they will not eat to the ground!

Water iris and a marginal aquatic grass (don't know the name of the grass though). A water iris plant multiplies each year and would be an economical addition. The ducks like to nuzzle in there and the ducklings like to take cover in there when the ducks get too close.

Are you baiting us? Duck eggs are GREAT for baking. Fluffy, fluffy cupcakes. Also, they are richer in nutirents than chicken eggs. Is this some kinda set-up?
