I would LOVE to get Ducks! Are their eggs good? Also, can you just keep a kids swimming pool as a pond for them?

The eggs are great for eating and baking with, and most of us use kiddy pools for our ducks. Have you decided on a breed? and Welcome to BYC.

Pekins, Runners, Khaki Campbells, Just to start with. Then you have the seasonal like Muscvoy and Mallards. Lots of other breeds too so hopefully others will chime in on their breed.

My best layers are my Campbells (1 white and 1 khaki). They pop a big egg out practically every day

That said there isn't much competition from my other ducks which are all seasonal layers (calls and a mallard), but the Campbells out lay all my chickens too.

They have very sweet personalities to boot
