Duct tape saddle for bare spot... Cream under?

I'm going to give the duct tape saddle a try tonight for my EE Noisy that has a bare back, she was going through a BAD molt when I got her, and most of her feathers are back, but the base of her tail is still bare and red, I think she's getting pecked. Should I put any cream like cortisone underneath to help the irritation at all?

Why not make a saddle from a pot holder and string? Or wrapping the bird with an ace bandage.

I've never heard of using duct. My initial thought is why would you put aggressive tape over feather you want to keep on the bird?

Ace bandage sounds pretty brilliant.... I might just give that a try instead, especially the kind that sticks to itself.... The duct tape saddle is supposed to stay on just long enough, since chickens are dusty it doesn't stay on forever.
