Congrats!

I candled just a few. Just the ones that I paid for. And it appears that not one of the GL are developing.

I split an order with another BYC member near me. We'll give it a couple days and I'll ask if hers are developing or not. She left for Florida yesterday for a week. So I have to wait until she gets back. It would be sad if none develope. I hope we can get a refund on those. They cost quite a bit of money.

BUT....the plus side is, it appears that ALL the BLRW are developing!

And it appears that not one of the GL are developing.

I am on day 9 and I have 35 out of 37 developing...I took the other 2 out. One wasn't fertile, 1 was a day 3 quitter.

Now I am fussing with the humidity, trying to get it right still. It was steady and then we got rain....lots and lots of rain!!! So I am trying to get it steady.

Congrats!!

Looks like we will get a decent hatch from most sellers we got eggs from, except 1 group (not byc) turns out they are all clear, and its a fertility issue not shipping because 2 others are having the same issue with them, of course its the more expensive ones

Fordmommy: oops, sorry I saw the 24 of 24 and was congratulation on that, but missed about the GL, sorry your having a bad hatch with them. Hope your seller and mine get things worked out.

Those GL were for me a bonus. Here's the story....

I was talking to Buck Creek Chickens, she lives near me and we've become fast friends. She was ordering from the auctions here from someone who has 7 breeds for sale. I told her that if they had the BLRW eggs for sale at the time of her delivery, I would take them and split the shipping cost with her. Well- they did. But the chickens weren't laying like they should have been and so that person Emailed my friend and told her that since they weren't laying like they should, she would send what she had of the BLRW and also send extras of whatever she had to make up the difference. Well- she sent extra of the GL and my friend offered me some of those. Well- I took 4 and she kept 6. Not one of mine were fertile. I cracked them open last night and checked. So we'll see what her's are doing when she gets back. Maybe she got all the fertile ones.

But I really am glad that the BLRW are doing well.

Let's keep it that way. That is my project. I would like to breed those.

The BLRW are on my wish list !!! I can't wait until I can afford to but some eggs, I think they are beautiful! I am a blue fan (obviously

) and lacing fan so combined with red is just stunningly beautiful!

I can't wait to see every ones hatches!!

Well, candled again today, day 12. Had 2 quitters so I took them out. I opened them out of curiosity and one looks like it died on day 10 (according to pictures I saw) and the other one was not even a baby, which is weird...it looked like a dark colored blob ??? Very odd, but anyhow, I took them out and I have 33 happy moving chicks today! Next Thursday is lock down for me..I am a bit nervous about that!!!

how is everyone else coming along?
