Due the 22nd? Hatch with me!

Hey you guys!!!!! I've had one more hatch---he was just be-bopping around the incubator when I got home! It's supposed to be a Dark Cornish--but he doesn't look like I think that a Dark Cornish should--we'll see. Just so ya'll know--my first name is Selina, gil is the first 3 letters of my last name. LOL--I know it's a wierd screen name. Anyway so now I've got a bloody pip, what causes them to do that. Also it's been pipped for about 12 hours and has made no progress, it's beak is just sorta hanging out of the egg. The last time I had one do that the outcome was not good--he died in the shell. Any info or advice would be much appreciated! I also forgot to add that 1 of the 4 eggs I had left in this batch is about 5 days behind the others so it should hatch on Tuesday. I will post pics soon.

I'm so sorry---I wish I could share my chickies with you!!! At least we haven't killed this thread!!! LOL!

Little peeper is out.. A beautiful white crested blue or black polish via thepetpaw. Now she's shrieking like a banchee, but in SUCH a cute way.

To get out of her egg, she did a somersault backwards onto the wire. It was ADORABLE.

One question.. Can the chicks burn themselves on the heating element? I'm hatching in cartons.. And it seems like that could be a problem.. I'd hate for there to be a happy chick and then her get burned by that incubator. It's burned me before, and it was NOT pretty.

I think we have another pip somewhere, but it's hidden.. Maybe. I might be hallucinating. Kinda tired here. I've been rooting her on since about four.

Nope. I was watching my favourite show ever when it pipped, and trying to eat dinner. And then, the next one that pipped just happened while I was sleeping.

..We have another pip! Another polish. I'm getting pics as we speak, once I find batteries!

I had to take little banchee chicken out, 'cause she was waaaaaay too close to the heating element for my liking. All is good, though, I hope! Humidity is still up.
