Hello Byc! I live in New York and as you probably know, I'm quarantined. and it just so happens I have baby chicks coming in a week! I have a heat lamp and bulb, and a brooder. I don't have chick feed or containers for them. I have no Tractor Supply around because they all shut down due to the corona Virus. Any suggestions? Also the only stores that are open are grocery stores. Thank you! And stay safe.

I would order some from Chewy.com right away. Their shipping is MUCH faster than anywhere else. Even with a little delay, it would be the fastest I think.

I am more close to the city. And our village is very perticular about self-isolation. I ended up buying some from Chewy.com. and got it yesterday. Thank you all for your help.

Chewy has great customer service. Call them and they will overnight it to you.

Chewy is taking up to two weeks to deliver anything now, as most everyone else is, too. Skeleton crews handling warehouse and shipping departments, and many people are placing orders because they can't get out, so not enough people to fill the orders and too many orders slows everything down.

That’s not true. I ordered dog food on Monday arrived today. If someone was desperate a phone call might get faster delivery. Might not happen but sure worth a try.

I would order chick/starter feed immediately, and if you don't have it for a few days, feed whole grains, peanut butter, and scrambled egg. Don't give too much protein or calcium. Common sense about nutrition - they're pretty sturdy and adaptable, should be fine with a week or two of non-standard feed.

The main thing they need is protein. Bread crumbs, camp corn meal with a cooked egg could do the trick for a few days. Earthworms would also be accepted.

Feed stores should be open. they are necessary. Call around to see. We are quarantined and the feed stores are open. People have to feed their animals.
